Day Four - race update and video

6 November 2014

Day Four of the International Six Days Enduro was vastly different to the previous day of attrition. The hot dry conditions were just as tough but with nowhere near the retirements of Day Three.

Wellard riders again dominated as Gary Sutherlin narrowly defeated team mate Andrew Delong by just two seconds to claim bragging rights and the overall day win in the C2 division. Both riders showed great speed and did what they had to, completing the day at the front of the field.

The duo won every special test of the day and increased their lead in the C2 field. Gary showed his liking for the deep sand winning specials one and four, while Andrew took both the rocky ground stages.

After four days of racing Gary now leads the C2 class outright with Andrew three minutes behind in second place. Though out of contention for the Club Team win, we still sit in eighth place overall which is an exceptional result.

Tomorrow sees new terrain as Day Five heads north of San Juan, and with the new trail comes different special tests so riders will again be tested.

Roll on Day 5.
